July 2, 2025 – Status Update

Since our last update, our office has submitted appeal briefing regarding the EEOC’s General Prehearing Order for the hearings that were to take place.

Amongst other things, our office emphasized that this process has taken far too long.  We urged the EEOC to use all available resources to ensure that claimants receive timely determinations on relief and get awards out.  We understand this process has been long and people want to know the recovery they may be entitled to.

The Postal Service attorneys also submitted their own appeal papers.  The USPS lawyers argued that the process should be slowed down even more.

On Thursday June 26, 2025, we filed a strong opposition to the USPS papers, again requesting that the EEOC move with efficiency and expediency.

The appeal briefing is now complete and we await a decision by the EEOC Office of Federal Operations (OFO).  Unfortunately, we do not know how long it will take to receive a decision on the appeal.  It appears unlikely that a decision on the appeal will be issued before the end of 2025.  When the decision is issued, we will post an update on this website and explain how the decision will impact the relief process going forward.  Please continue to check the website for updates.
